Hi, re Wild Rivers Rafting, as a first timer, i’m a little aprehensive, do participants have to be fit & able to swim?, what safety gear & proceedures are employed?, are guides trained in first-aid?, how many guides on a trip?, can i safely take my camera? & do you have Eftpos or accept credit cards? Cheers
To answer your questions: as far as fitness, you should be able to walk briskly for 10 minutes. Swimming is not required to go rafting, and we are fully compliant with all Maritime New Zealand safety requirements for equipment and procedures, including current First Aid Training. There will be one NZRA qualified guide per raft. You can safely take your camera as long as it is waterproof. However, there is always a risk of it going overboard accidentally. We do not take Eftpos, but do accept credit cards, but since we would be meeting you on the river, cash is the best option. However for more detailed information such as river flow, etc., please give us a call. Thank you for your inquiry. We look forward to meeting you on the river!!
Just want to say thanks to these guys for taking myself and my husband on our first white water rafting trip. We didn’t think we were going to be able to go as we had missed out earlier in the morning with a different crew, but these guys came through for us and they were happy to take just the 2 of us at such short notice.
The trip was perfect for us beginners and yet we still went through quite a few rapids.
Thanks Marty for a great trip and some good advice about where to stop next!!
Good luck in your new business!!
